Matthew 6:33
"But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." NIV
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." KJV
Jesus teaches us that God's creation has a built in means of sustaining all the things we need. Birds eat due to continually working to find it. The flowers grow and flourish from natural processes. We don't need to worry about the things we need to sustain life. It does no good to worry; it only shows how little our faith is. If we are diligent to take care of what He has already given to us, we can be sure He will continue to supply all of our needs.
Heavenly Father, we ask Your forgiveness for worrying about how we will have enough provision for this month or even for tomorrow. Help us to understand that even though our finances or our cupboards look inadequate, we have a loving and caring God who will take care of everything we need. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
