HE WENT AHEAD

Matthew 26:32

"But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee."NIV

"But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee."KJV

When Jesus Christ ascended into heaven, He sat at the right of the Father. He is there interceding for us, but also to prepare our eternal home in heaven where we will be with Him. How comforted and at peace should we be knowing He is busy getting a special place ready for us and will soon come back for us, His Bride?

Heavenly Father, we praise You for the perfect plan of Salvation and for Jesus Christ who came and fulfilled that plan to the finish. We pray that we always remember what it cost for this to happen and that we live lives that shed the light of this truth to the world around us. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

YOU TEAR IT DOWN I WILL RAISE IT UP

John 2:19

"Jesus answered them, Destroy this temple, and will raise it again in three days."NIV

"Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up."KJV

Haven't we all been told something, given information, and thought we understood what was said? The Scribes and Pharisees thought they understood the message Jesus told them about destroying the temple and raising it in 3 days. They weren't listening. He said, "This temple." He was not pointing to the actual temple of worship. He didn't say He would "rebuild it" in three days. He said He would "raise it up" in three days. He was telling them what was going to happen but their eyes were blinded and their ears were dull. Well, it did happen. And what Jesus said is exactly what happened. If we watch and listen to the words of Christ more closely, we will know Him so much better and be closer to the kingdom of God.

Heavenly Father, we recognize that You knew the plan of the Cross before the foundation of the world. Help us to stay in the Word with Holy Spirit anointing so that we will know the truth and live it everyday. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

NOT HERE

Matthew 28:6

"He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay."NIV

"He is not here: for he is risen, as he said, Come, see the place where the Lord lay."KJV

Jesus Christ had finished what He came to do. Because He lives, we will live too, if we believe. The same Power that brought Jesus Christ out of the grave from death to life, is the same Power He sent back to us as a Companion and Helper so that we will be able to do mighty things for His kingdom until He comes back for us.

Heavenly Father, we continue to stand in awe at the marvelous resurrection of our Lord and what it means for us today. Give us openness to the Holy Spirit to realize that because Jesus Christ finished what He came to do, we can live forever. In His blessed name we pray, Amen.

THE DARKEST HOUR

Mark 14:50

"Then everyone deserted him and fled."NIV

"And they all forsook him, and fled."KJV

When it seems that all we have hoped for and believed has been destroyed, and we fear we have been left with nothing, no hope, take courage my friend! God does His most awesome work in the darkest hours. While the disciples thought their Lord was dead and gone, He was busy walking through the gates of hell and taking the keys of death from the hand of Satan. It is human to doubt that God is working or that He even cares. But if we stir up our faith through His Word, and wait, we will see the marvelous thing He was doing while we thought all was lost.

Heavenly Father, hallelujah! We can only stand in awe of Your mighty work and the victory of our Lord Jesus Christ. In His name, Amen.

MORE ABUNDANT

John 10:10

" . . . I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." NIV

" . . . I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." KJV

Little did we know that Jesus said these words knowing He had to die, so that we could have eternal life. He came so that He could take our place, the eternal death we deserve. Christ did it and went to the lower parts of the earth and took the keys of death from Satan and came alive to sit with the Father. If we believe Jesus Christ did this for us because of our sin, we will have eternal life, which is more than abundant.

Heavenly Father, how we praise You for the great plan of salvation, through the death and resurrection of Your Only Son. Keep us aware of the abundant life we have here on earth and on into eternity because He obeyed Your plan. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

DECREASED

John 3:30

"He must become greater; I must become less." NIV

"He must increase, but I must decrease." KJV

What did the people think as they saw our Lord beaten beyond recognition, hanging on the cross that was the most humiliating execution that existed? John the Baptist's words did not make any sense at that moment. When Jesus rose from the grave, leaving the tomb empty, His disciples realized then that Jesus had decreased to the lowest part of hell so that we could follow Him. We can now give up our right to ourselves, decrease, so that we will be able to share His increase by becoming the Bride of the King of Kings. John the Baptist foretold the reason Christ came, died, and rose again. Our Lord completed His commission. Now it is our turn to decrease until there is nothing left of our own selfishness, but we are full of Jesus Christ.

Heavenly Father, there are no words to let us tell You how much we love You and thank You for the great sacrifice You made for us. But we do ask You to give us what we need to decrease, to rid ourselves of what we want and to live the way You want us live. We pray this in Jesus' name, Amen.

DENY OURSELVES AND FOLLOW HIM

Luke 9:23

"Then he said to them all: Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me."NIV

"And he said to them all: If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me."KJV

Our Lord came to this earth with no thought about himself, but only obeying the Father and reaching out to people wherever He went. All along the way He met with trials, tribulations, threats, and tests. If we truly want to be a follower of Jesus Christ, we will do the same. We will go about doing as Jesus did. We will ignore ourselves and all our wants and desires. We will seek to obey His Word and bring the message of salvation to every person we encounter. Oh, yes, this will cause many trials and difficulties for us, along with the normal tribulations that occur just living in this world. Every day, we will meet these problems with courage and joy that we are counted worthy to be called His own.

Heavenly Father, forgive us for failing to deny ourselves and choosing instead to satisfy our own longings and fulfillment. Stir our hearts with the desire to be Your disciples and carry the cross of Your honor each and every day. In His name we pray, Amen.
