GET RID OF IT

Colossians 3:5

"Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry." ESV

When we were born again into the Body of Christ, we were made new. However, we are still confined to this earth and to its natural laws. We continue to have thoughts and desires that are contrary to God's way. We are commanded to totally get rid of these ungodly things that are in our human nature. No excuses, no exceptions. These things are sexual thoughts and actions outside the bounds of marriage; anything that stains our Christian testimony; wanting anything that is detestable to God; giving in when we know it is wrong; and being dissatisfied with what we have, always wanting more.

Heavenly Father, help us to use our faith and the power You have given us to put to death all of the desires and actions that place us in danger of Your displeasure. Give us courage to take responsibility for our thoughts, feelings, and actions. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

Amen, Bobbi! Thru the years, surrendering to the Lord daily (and telling Him I mean that even on the days I forget to say it :) ), and practicing "spiritual breathing" continually - http://www.cru.org/training-and-growth/classics/the-spirit-filled-life/index.htm - have been huge blessings for me to keep me focused on Him - not that I'm even close to perfect. But as the old song goes, "I'm not what I want to be, I'm not what I'm going to be, but PRAISE GOD I'm not what I was! :) Have a blessed week! :)
