WATCH YOUR MOUTH

Ephesians 4:29

"Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear." ESV

Words that come out of our mouths may not only be unholy and profane, but the words we say can also tear down and humiliate others. We never know who may be within hearing distance when we speak. God hears, and He will judge us. Others will hear and either be discouraged or be influenced to speak in the same way. We are responsible to watch what we say.

Heavenly Father, forgive us for speaking things that bring dishonor to the name of Christ. Forgive us for saying words that hurt and tear down. Help us to watch our words carefully so that we will build up and encourage, bringing honor to our Lord. In His name we pray, Amen.

Stopping by from Spiritual Sundays... :)

We are responsible, and even though at times it is hard to tame our tongues, we need to make our words a tool for a blessing! God desires us to deliver words fitly spoken and seasoned with grace so that it will bless others... :)

Blessings and love!

Love the picture. It illustrates the point so well. Words are powerful. They can hurt or heal. We need to be reminded that we should never use them to hurt. Thank you for sharing this wisdom.
Blessings,
Charlotte
