OUR WAY OR THE RIGHT WAY

Proverbs 16:25

"There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death." NIV

"There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death." KJV

Common sense is so practical and logical that it seems like the right thing to do. It is easy to make it a habit to follow common sense or the way that seems right. This way is dangerous and can result in spiritual death. Actually this is the opposite of walking by faith. The way of faith may not make sense, but it will keep us on the narrow path that leads to life.

Heavenly Father, we ask for your forgiveness for the times we rely on our own ideas of what is right. Help us Lord to keep our eyes on you and our faith grounded in the truth of your perfect plan for us. We pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

Thank you! Being a Christian is difficult---but not as difficult as NOT being one.

Blessings.

Thanks for stopping by. Your comment brings up a good point. I see your perspective as "doing good" because you are of the mindset to be open to good inspiration that will motivate you to do good. That is unselfish in itself and in fact the BEST. ;D

Nice post. Not only is the Lord's way not always the "common sense" route for others... it's also rarely the "easy" way. So true!

That was powerful but I am so glad to be Forgiven because I am nothing without Him.

We need to make sure that the way we thinks is right is God's way. I really believe if we truly seek God and ask for His guidance, he will answer that prayer. Thank you for this thoughtful post.

It is so much easier to go the common sense way but we must remember that His ways are not our ways and we have such a limited and often one sided view of things.

Thanks for sharing this reminder.
Blessings,
Annette
