HEART EXAM

Psalm 26:2

"Test me, O Lord, and try me, examine my heart and my mind." NIV

"Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart." KJV

Sometimes we overlook things within us that hinder our Christian walk because we are so accustomed to the way we are or we do not recognize that anything is amiss. When we ask the Master Examiner to check our hearts and minds, He will bring out the smallest hint of wrongdoing. Many Christians prefer to just gloss over in a self examination to make sure there are no noticeable or terribly wretched problems within. Small cancerous tumors grow into large fatal masses. It is hard to be held under the microscope, but the love of the Lord causes Him to take the smallest uncleanness and make our hearts as white as snow. Sometimes it is painful, but the results are a clean conscience, a pure heart, and eternal life.

Heavenly Father, we do not want to have hearts that have even small amounts of sin and the only way we can have clean and pure hearts is to allow you to search us and take care of any problem that is there. We ask that you examine us right now and reveal to us the state of our hearts that we might be clean and pure in your sight. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Amen. We need heart surgery not only today but I think every day that passes by. When we focus on Him each day first, we wouldn't have that chance of getting side-tracked in doing those things that matter the most. God bless.

Amen Sister Bobbie! Conviction of sin from the Great Physician that leads to confession and repentance is often unwanted but always necessary.
