2 Corinthians
5:20
"We are
therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.
We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God." NIV
"Now then we
are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in
Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God." KJV
What a shame it is
that many Christians lack the spiritual depth to understand they are
representing Christ Himself here on earth. We may be the only way others can
know that God loves them and learn the Way to eternal life. Our spirituality was
never meant to be a personal, private thing. It is meant to go for Christ's sake
to tell the Gospel to others and show the world how He wants us to
live.
Heavenly Father,
Oh how we fall short of our responsibility as Your ambassadors. Forgive us and
help us to take up the burden of appealing to others that they come to You. That
is the great commission to us, help us to be worthy of that calling. We pray in
the name of Jesus, Amen.
