Proverbs
15:15
"All the
days of the oppressed are wretched, but the cheerful heart has a continual
feast." NIV
"All the
days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual
feast." KJV
If we allow our
hearts to be ruled by the situation we are in or the things that are going on
around us, we will have unsatisfied hearts. We will spread discontent and be
left lonely, because a discontented heart drives others away. When we learn to
be content and allow the joy of the Lord to rule our heart, no matter what, we
will bask in the awesome table of God's presence and leave a scattering of joy
wherever we go.
Heavenly Father,
help us to keep from allowing the world to determine our happiness or sadness.
May we experience Your grace to see that no matter what comes our way, You are
in control, and we can let Your joy rule our hearts. Let the joy in our hearts
be a blessing to everyone we meet. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
