Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." NIV
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." KJV
We often wonder why we keep remembering past bad things that have happened to us or that we did. Those memories are there to remind us that we have a Deliverer and Saviour who brings us through any experience. These memories can serve to give us faith and hope for the future. If we look forward, not dwelling on the past, we will have peaceful anticipation of the mighty things God is going to do in our lives.
Heavenly Father, we stand on Your Word and ask that You will help us to use our faith. Help us to keep our past memories from letting us move forward in our Christian maturity and fruitfulness. We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
