Matthew 7:7,8
" Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened." NIV
"Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For everyone that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." KJV
When we ask of God with sincere and humble hearts, we acknowledge our dependence on Him. We diligently seek the answer as though we are seeking a long lost treasure of great worth. Until the answer comes, we keep on knocking like we would if we were urgently needing to get into our homes and we are locked out. Keep on asking, keep on seeking, and keep on knocking. Jesus says if we do, we will receive, we will find, and we will enter into the answer.
Heavenly Father, so many times we give up after seeking for an answer to prayer once or twice with no apparent answer. Help us to use our faith and trust in You, knowing that You hear us and if we persist, You will give us the answer. We thank You and praise You for that. In Jesus' name, Amen.
