KEEP GOING

Exerting time and energy to do Godly things can become tiresome if
we are never acknowledged or rewarded for our efforts. Likewise, it
can be wearisome if we meet with difficulties and snags that create
more time and energy to get God's work done. If you are feeling tired
and weary, take Heart! Refresh yourself in His promises. The fruits
of your labor will surely appear if you just keep going and don't quit.

Read Galatians 6:9

"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will
reap a harvest if we do not give up." (NIV)

"And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall
reap, if we faint not." (KJV)

WEAR ALL THE ARMOR

As Christians, we all have spiritual battles to fight against the subtle traps, deceiving temptations, and outright devastating attacks of Satan. We can't be without the full protection God has provided for us or neglect to maintain and wear any part of His armor. We are to be alert and prepared for anything the enemy may use to hinder or destroy our Christian walk.

Read Ephesians 6:11

"Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. (NIV)

"Put on the whole Armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil." (KJV)

LIVING & TRUSTING GOD

Living a clean and upright life serves to keep us on the narrow
path and guards us against temptation and deceit. This is our
desire, to live in this way, because we trust that God will take
care of us for all eternity as He promised.

Read Psalm 25:21

"May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope is in
you." (NIV)

"Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee." (KJV)

LOVE

Everything we do, everything we learn, and all understanding we
have is to be filled, rich to overflowing with love. Doing so, we can
know the things that are right and Godly. Then we will know God,
for God is love.

Read Philippians 1:9,10

"And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more
in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to
discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day
of Christ." (NIV)

"And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in
knowledge and in all judgment; That ye may approve things that are
excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of
Christ." (KJV)

LOOK UP

We are a part of the ultimate reality of God's eternal plan that is working
without interruption or hesitation. There are also the workings of life and living in this world, of which we are a part. The things of this world seem to easily grab our attention. We tend to lose sight of God's ways, which are for our good and His glory, and focus on happenings in this world that keep us struggling spiritually, emotionally, and physically. The things of this world are temporary. The things of God are eternal. Focus on the eternal, then we will have peace and balance in our soul in this world and forever.

Read Colossians 3:2

"Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things." (NIV)

"Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth." (KJV)

WATCH & PERSEVERE

We are often vulnerable to opening ourselves up to worldly ideas
and actions that seem right at the time, but they are not all right.
They weaken our spiritual holiness and faith. If that happens, we
become ineffective in our testimony, losing that anointing that drew
others to Christ through us. That's why we are strongly warned to be
alert and persevere in our faith.

Read 1 Timothy 4:16

"Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because
if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers." (NIV)

"Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them:
for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear
thee." (KJV)

WISDOM & UNDERSTANDING

Sin entered the world because man's foolish thinking was esteemed
more than the wisdom of God. The consequence of that was man's
separation from God. To be in reverent awe and respect of Almighty
God will give us true wisdom, because we will be listening to Him
and being obedient to Him. In doing so, we will become more and
more separated from evil, to places where we can really see and
understand the truth.

Read Job 28:28

"And he said to man, 'The fear of the Lord--that is wisdom, and to shun
evil is understanding.'" (NIV)

"And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the LORD, that is wisdom;
and to depart from evil is understanding." (KJV)

THE LOVED ARE DISCIPLINED

The Lord teaches us the way we are to go. He gets us back on
the right path when we stray. He works with us to be disciplined
and obedient to Him. Sometimes this is not a pleasant thing, but
it tells us that He loves us and cares about us as a loving parent
with a child.

Read Proverbs 3:11,12

"My son, do not despise the Lord's discipline and do not resent
his rebuke, because the Lord disciplines those he loves, as a
father the son he delights in." (NIV)

"My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary
of his correction: For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as
a father the son in whom he delighteth." (KJV)

KEEP YOUR GIFT ALIVE

We have all been given a gift from God, to be used for His
glory and His purpose. It is our responsibility to maintain
the freshness and readiness of our gift by feeding it through
close communion with Him and with other believers. Then,
when God presents the opportunity for us to use our gift, it
will be ready and useful.

Read 2 Itmothy 1:6

"For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God,
which is in you through the laying on of my hands." (NIV)

"Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift
of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands." (KJV)

TRIALS BRING PERSEVERANCE

Ask anyone you see if they have a simple, trouble-free life. The
answer will be a unanimous "no!" We are told in the Word that we
will have trials and tribulations while we are in this world. Some
of our problems we bring on ourselves. Some things happen that
we do not understand at all. Regardless, we can have that deep
and abiding joy during any difficulty because we know that we are
made stronger in our faith and endurance to keep growing spiritually.

Read James 1:2,3

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of
many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith
develops perseverance." (NIV)

"My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience." (KJV)

ANSWER THE DOOR

Do you ever wonder where your peace and communion with God are?
Do you desire it? If so, He is right here wanting you to answer His
call at the door of your heart. This is the place that you have gotten
separated from Him. He desires to come into your heart in complete
communion with Him. Listen for Him knocking, confess your sin, and
open your heart to Him. There is where you will find the peace and rest
you so desperately seek. It is with Him. Do you hear Him knocking at
your heart's door?

Read Revelation 3:20

"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice
and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me."
(NIV)

"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and
open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with
me." (KJV)

ASK, SEEK, AND KNOCK

Some people use scripture to justify selfish wants and desires, reasoning that the Bible tells us it is all right to do so. To ask has nothing to do with
wanting a favor or personal request. It is asking for a renewed, closer walk and communion with God. We are to seek this in an active way through prayer, the Word, and in fellowship with other believers. By knocking, we show God how serious we are in persevering until we are in right relationship to Him.

Read Matthew 7:7

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the
door will be opened to you." (NIV)

"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it
shall be opened unto you:" (KJV)

WISDOM OPENS THE EYES

The more wise we become, the more we can see the sinfulness
of the human heart and the devastation it has on God's creation.
It is a truly sad revelation. Understanding what is happening in
the world around us and seeing it through God's eyes causes us
to grieve along with Him.

Read Ecclesiastes 1:18

"For with much wisdom comes much sorrow; the more
knowledge , the more grief." (NIV)

"For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth
knowledge increaseth sorrow" (KJV)

GIVING ALL

It is such an amazing thing when we get hold of the fact that
the Son of God actually left His throne in Heaven and became a
human being. Even more amazing, He gave all He had, Himself,
because of His love, mercy, and grace that would show us the
Way to the One true God. When we take time to dwell on that, it
seems like such a small thing that we would turn our total selves
over to Him. But, that is all we have to give Him.

Read John 1:14

"The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have
seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the
Father, full of grace and truth." (NIV)

"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we
beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father)
full of grace and truth." (KJV)

WARNING: SPIRIT OF ANTICHRIST IS HERE

In our present times, tolerance has become the ruling law of the
world. As Christians, we are in danger of being weakened in our
faith by accepting everyone's way of believing as equally valid as
any other. Although we are not commanded to put other's down,
we are to test what we see and hear. We are to speak and live the
Gospel to everyone, everywhere. The opposition, the antichrist is
out there quickly spreading deceit, masked truth.

Read 1 John 4:3

"But every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God.
This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming
and even now is already in the world." (NIV)

"And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come
in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist,
whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already
is it in the world." (KJV)

GOD'S WAYS ARE HIGHER

Do we sometimes believe that God works within the confines
of our human reasoning? We must, because things go wrong,
our prayers seem to have hit the ceiling, and we wonder why
God is not there, hearing us. We are commanded in His Word
to bring our petitions, cares, and burdens to Him but we are not
commanded to tell Him how to take care of these things. We
are only to trust in Him, know that He is in control, and that He
hears us.

Read Isaiah 55:9

"As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher
than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." (NIV)

"For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways
higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." (KJV)

TAKE CARE OF YOUR ANGER

Anger is a normal emotion that all of us experience whether
we like it or not. There is no sin in being angry. The sin is
in the wrong way we deal with anger. The most common ways
we mishandle our anger are to hold on to it, rehearse it, dwell
on it, and feed it. Then the evil one seizes the opportunity to
add his mixture of venom to it and takes control. Then the anger
festers and becomes destructive. Let the Lord have control of
your anger as soon as you are aware there is anger.

Read Ephesians 4:26,27

"In your anger do not sin; Do not let the sun go down while you
are angry, and do not give the devil a foothold." (NIV)

"Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
Neither give place to the devil." (KJV)

GOD WANTS YOU

Some people believe that God doesn't want them. They
believe they have been placed in a rejection bin because
God just doesn't want them, or they are too far gone for
God to accept. Those dear people can take heart! Repeatedly
God says in His word, 'Whosoever will,' 'whosoever believes,'
'anyone who opens the door to me' He will accept. God's
love, grace, and mercy extends to every soul who will trust
Him and take Him at His Word.

Read 1 Timothy 2:3,4

"This is good, and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all
men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth."
(NIV)

"For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our
Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come
unto the knowledge of the truth." (KJV)

REACHING CHRISTIAN MATURITY

When we become unified in our faith into the truth of
Christ, we will be one with Him and He with us. The
world will no longer be able to accuse Christians of
hypocrisy or being fairy tale believers. The world will
look at the Church and stand in awe at the power of
the Almighty God.

Read Ephesians 4:13

"Until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge
of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole
measure of the fullness of Christ." (NIV)

UNITED IN MIND AND SPIRIT

If Christians everywhere were united in thinking and purpose,
the power and love of the Bride of Christ would explode in this
world, breaking through the very gates of hell. Unfortunately,
the Church is busy dividing itself by differing in less important
interpretations of scripture and theological beliefs. Let's all
return to the One important matter: Jesus Christ and Him
crucified!

Read 1 Corinthians 1:10

"I appeal to you, brother, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no
divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind
and thought." (NIV)

"Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among
you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in
the same judgment." (KJV)

CONTEND FOR THE FAITH

If we are contending for the faith, that is, faith in Jesus
as the Christ, then we are wrestling against anything that
would threaten that faith. We would be battling any thought,
imagination, or temptation that would distract us from the
narrow path of truth. So, be actively holding on to the faith!

Read Jude 3

"Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about
the salvation we share, I felt I had to write and urge you to
contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to the
saints." (NIV)

"Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the
common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you,
and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith
which was once delivered unto the saints." (KJV)

THE SPIRIT IS OUR LAW

The law is a set of rules that govern a community or group of
people so that order is maintained and the rights of people are
not violated. Being governed by the Spirit is an attitude of the
heart to obey God. In doing so, by His nature, we will be orderly
and respectful of others. If we allow the Spirit to lead us, there
is no need to worry about breaking any laws.

GET RID OF OLD THINKING

We have learned by human experience that the best predictor of
future behavior in humans in past behavior. This principle does
not hold true with God. He cannot be predicted nor does He limit
Himself to the same ways of working or to the ways we think He
should work. We can be sure that God can and will do that which
seems impossible to the human mind, make something out of nothing,
and call into being those things that do not exist.

Read Isaiah 43:18,19

"Forget the former things, do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing
a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making
a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland."(NIV)

"Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.

DO YOU LOVE YOUR BROTHER?

To love God is a divine gift from Him and it flows from
Himself through us and to those around us. If we have
ill will toward others, we have not tapped in to that source

Read 1 John 4:20

liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he
has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. (NIV)

Sometimes we expect the Lord to respond to our prayers the way
we think He should or in our time frame. When He doesn't do that,
we get discouraged and give up. The truth is, God has given us the
responsibility of being strong, stable, and patient in our faith, knowing
He will keep His Word.

Read Hebrews 10:23

but continue to do things that are not pleasing to Him.

USE THE LIGHT YOU HAVE

Sometimes we find ourselves asking God for more maturity, knowledge,
and revelation from Him. Then we wonder why time has gone by and we
have not received more of these things from Him. The reason is that we
have not put into practice those things He has already given to us. If we
will apply and live in the light He has already given us, we will find that
more comes in His time and His way.

OPEN AND CLOSED DOORS

It is God who opens and closes the doors in our lives. We can bring

TRUST OVER FEAR

The greatest inhibiting and immobilizing factors of our success in the
Christian walk is fear. Fear can overpower our faith and keep us from
stepping out in boldness against sin and injustice. We fear rejection by
our family, friends, and co-workers. There are those around the world
who suffer much worse than peer rejection for their faith. Those who
would reject, injure, or kill us for our faith only touch the temporary. God is guarding our soul, which is eternal.

Read Psalm 56:11

"In God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?" (NIV)

"In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do
unto me." (KJV)

WHERE SHOULD WE WALK?

Real Christianity is living our lives under the influence of the
Holy Spirit, bearing spiritual fruit, and using the spiritual gifts
God has freely given. If we keep ourselves on that path, we will
be able to overcome those temptations and pitfalls that hound us
every day.

Read Galatians 5:16

the sinful nature. (NIV)

"This I say then, walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust
