BUILDERS

Jude 1:20

"But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit." ESV

So, we are to build up our faith in the Lord! This must mean we just can't sit and carry on life as usual and expect the Lord to drop great portions of faith into us. The Lord has already given us a measure of faith. It is up to us to build it up so that it will make us strong. How do we build up our own faith? By the Word of God: hearing it, studying it, meditating on it, and living it.

Lord, thank You so much for the gift of faith You give to each of us. We ask for Your grace to help us build up our faith. Increase our desire for Your Word, so that we will be useful for Your kingdom. In Your generous name we pray, Amen.

THE ULTIMATE COMMUNICATION DEVICE

Colossians 4:2

"Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving." ESV

If we stay in direct contact with God, watching with open eyes for the evil traps set just for us, we will be ready for anything that would distract us from our goal of becoming like Christ. And on this journey of ours, we can show thankfulness for the grace and mercy our Lord shows us every step of the way.

Lord, it is so hard to live in this world and not be drawn away down paths that lead nowhere. Give us a burning desire for the wonderful communication resource we have every moment, prayer. We desire to be vigilant and grateful when the storms of life come so that we will show the world Your glory. In Your magnificent name, Amen.

DON'T GET TIRED

2 Thessalonians 3:13

"As for you, brothers, do not grow weary in doing good." ESV

Making the Godly choice is a direct indication of the health of our faith. If we do right regardless of the consequences our faith is strong. If we choose to give in to our own wants or needs, our faith is either weak or dead. If we keep on making the choices we know are pleasing to God, the right choices, we will be saved. Do we need a faith check-up?

Lord, forgive us for making our choices based on our own desires. Help us to be alert and strong in faith to do what is right, no matter what. In Your faithful name we pray, Amen.

LISTEN TO WHO?

Psalm 23:1

"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want." ESV

It is the shepherd's responsibility to lead and protect his sheep. He makes it his priority to take the sheep to their destination unharmed and safe from the treacherous dangers that are scattered along the whole journey. Jesus is our Shepherd. Why would we ever trust in any earthly person to lead and guide us?

Lord, sometimes we lose sight of You and we tend to place our trust in the teachings and popularity of a human being. Draw us to Your pure Word and teachings so that we will arrive at our destination, eternal life, safely. In Your loving name we pray, Amen.

GOD WHERE ARE YOU?

Isaiah 57:11

"Whom did you dread and fear, so that you lied, and did not remember me, and not lay it to heart? Have I not held my peace, even for a long time, and you do not fear me? ESV

We all experience desert times when we feel God has forgotten us. These are times of serious tests of faith for even the mature Christians. It is also at these times that our faith can become weak and we begin to put our trust in the things of this world rather than our Lord. It is so easy to keep our faith strong when things are going good. It is so difficult to walk along day after day with no sign from Him, but to keep our faith strong.

Lord, we are just like sheep. Our faith is shallow and the size of our faith most often equals the circumstances that surround us. Help us to fan the flames of our faith so that we will stand strong no matter what happens. In Your precious name we pray, Amen.

LOVE ME LOVE YOU

Mark 12:31

"The second is this: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these." ESV

How much do we love ourselves? Do we love ourselves enough to make sure we have a roof over our heads, food to eat, clothes to wear, clean water, warmth, comforts, and basic necessities? Of course we have that much love for ourselves. That's how much we are to love others.

NUMERO UNO

Mark 12:30

"And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and with all your mind and with all your strength." ESV

This is the most important commandment of all. If we truly love our Lord in this way, what will it look like on the outside to other people?

Lord, forgive us for falling so short of Your greatest commandment. Help us to stir the faith within ourselves to seek You, to love You, and to reflect You with everything we are. In Your glorious name we pray, Amen.
