Hebrews 2:14
"Since
therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of
the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power
of death, that is, the devil." ESV
Christ
became human flesh and blood for the specific purpose of being the sinless
sacrifice for our sin. If He would have remained fully God, He would not have
been able to die. With a body such as we have, Jesus died and took the control
of death from Satan. Now Satan cannot taunt us with fear about death and hell.
By His death, Jesus Christ the door for us to pass through into eternal
life.
Heavenly
Father, we cannot even fathom how You went through this life without sin, though
You were human like us. Give us eyes to see the reality of what You gave up for
us, and by doing so, gave to us everlasting life. In Your name we pray,
Amen.
