1 Corinthians
1:10
"I appeal to
you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and
that there be no divisions among you, but that you may be united in the same
mind and the same judgment." ESV
Isn't it odd that
the Body of Christ, the Church, is divided by differing doctrines, traditions,
and interpretations of the Scriptures? If local churches everywhere are
preaching Christ crucified and resurrected as our Saviour from sin, why would
the Church sacrifice unity for the insistence on a particular doctrine,
tradition, or interpretation of Scripture? Think about it. Shouldn't we stick to
the point, that is Christ?
Heavenly Father,
please help us to get our priorities right and be united in the real purpose of
Your Church. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.
