Isaiah
43:18,19
"Remember not the former
things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it
springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and
rivers in the desert." ESV
We are taught by human
experience that the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. This
principle does not hold true with God. While our Creator will never go back on
His Word, we cannot predict or limit Him to the same ways of working like He did
in the past. We can be sure that God can and will do that which seems impossible
to the human mind, like making something out of nothing and calling into being
those things that do not exist.
Heavenly Father, forgive us for
trying to put You in a box and expecting You to act in the ways we expect. Help
us to accept that You know exactly what we need and to trust You to work all
things out for Your glory and our good. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.
