Corinthians 1:28,29
"He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things--and the things that are not--to nullify the things that are, so that
no one could boast before Him."

"And the base things of
the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and the things
which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in
his presence." KJV
It
was God's plan to have His Son enter humanity in a lowly and humble way. The lesson to learn here is that royalty
and riches in the Kingdom of God have nothing
to do with material things.
Heavenly Father,
we confess that we are a people who think of material things, not just
necessities, but things for comfort, pleasure, and status. Forgive us for being
selfish and worldly. Search our hearts and place a hunger for the things of God
rather than the things of this world. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.
