reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God
may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works."KJV
Let's think just a
few moments about the Scriptures being God-breathed. The Words of Life are
directly from the Creator of the universe. The same breath that gave life to
Adam, gave the living Holy Spirit to those who believe, gave inspiration to men
to write His words down. His Words are alive and they communicate God's
instructions and plan for us to restore a right relationship with Him. Living by
the inspired Word of God will lead us to being more like Christ and to eternal
life.
Heavenly Father,
we ask Your forgiveness for taking Your Word, the Scriptures for granted.
Forgive us for allowing our Bibles to lie unread for days or weeks at a time.
Forgive us for reading it with wandering minds and complacent attitudes. We ask
the Holy Spirit to inspire us and light the flame of hunger for the Word of God,
so that we will make it a part of our very souls. In Jesus' name we pray,
Amen.
