NIV "There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day. And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores." KJV Wealth, comfort, and health here on earth are not signs of God's favor. Poverty, misery, and sickness are not signs of God's disfavor. God looks at the condition of our hearts and spirit, our relationship with Him. That will determine our eternal condition. Let us examine our hearts, our spiritual conditions, and our relationship with the Lord. The world looks at the outer appearance and success. God looks only at the condition of the heart. Heavenly Father, forgive us for judging others by what we see. Help us to understand that every person we encounter is of eternal value in Your eyes. Give us Your eyes to see them as precious diamonds in the kingdom so that we don't miss out on a great blessing that individual may have had just for us from You.
