Matthew 6:13
"And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one." NIV
"And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil." KJV
We have to ask God to keep us from temptation because we know ourselves. We know how weak we are and how effortless it is to be overcome by those things that appeal to our senses or that come between us and our Lord. The enemy makes sure those things are strewn across our paths.
Heavenly Father, how thankful we are that You give us Spiritual armor to defend ourselves against the evil one. Please forgive us for getting too comfortable in our daily lives that we get taken in by the temptations around us. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.
