1 Peter 1:7
"These have come so that your faith -- of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire -- may be proven genuine and may result in praise, glory, and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed." NIV
"That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ." KJV
When gold is put through the fire it is purified and the true gold remains. God is more interested in the purifying of our faith after we have been through "grief in all kinds of trials." When our faith holds up through all of that, He is glorified and honored. He in turn honors us from all His eternal blessings. Let's think of this when we are going through fierce and troubled times.
Heavenly Father, forgive us when we complain and blame you for the fiery trials that come our way. You have told us we will have tribulation in this world. We want to thank you allowing these trials to purify and strengthen our faith and we ask that you give us what we need to overcome. In Jesus' name. Amen.

WOW! God is so awesome! As I was praying this morning, He brought this entire passage of Scripture to mind and gave me such a blessed time of praise and prayer for several special needs including the situation in Japan with the earthquake and tsunami! Then He reinforced it with your repeating some of those same wonderfully encouraging Bible verses. Thank you for being used by God in such a special way. Praying you have a blessed Sunday!

I too often fight against trials instead of accepting them as another means of grace from the hand of our good Good. Thanks for sharing this today.
ReplyDeleteHis grace is made perfect in our suffering, although it is difficult to appreciate that at the time of our distress. Great post.
ReplyDeleteHi Bobbi,
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this inspirational thought that adversity is not a bad thing when it occurs in my life; God uses any circumstance to perfect and mature my spiritual development.
Blessings and peace.
