1 Samuel 16:7
"But the Lord said to Samuel, 'Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.'" NIV
"But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart." KJV
We all know those times when we feel the Lord has rejected us, not heard us, nor considered our situation. It is those times that we have failed to see with God's eyes and have only looked at things through our own wants and needs. When we truly desire to see circumstances through His eyes, all things begin to make sense. Then, we can rejoice that God has chosen things to be this way to strengthen us and make us more like Him.
Heavenly Father, how short we fall when we look at things from our own perspectives and we don't consider Your ways and how You are looking at things. Help us to always look through Your eyes so that we don't miss Your wonderful works and Your blessings. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Cindy and I were just talking about this very thing last night. God moves in His own way that we do not comprehend, but all things work for good to those who love God.
ReplyDeleteThank you Bobbi for this much needed message from the Word of God. Blessings, Lloyd
