A DIFFERENT WAR

2 Corinthians 10:3

"For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does." NIV

"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh." KJV

Every day of our lives, we are in a spiritual warfare. Though earthly people and things come against us, we do not fight them as the world does. As Christians we use the power of the truth and Godly wisdom to bring about the Holy Spirit's conviction on the consciences of unbelievers. The strongholds there are deception, human reasoning, pride, and greed. The natural disasters and dangers of this world we fight by faith in God Almighty to spare us or bring us into His presence. We have these spiritual weapons to give us total victory in our Lord who went before us.

Heavenly Father, help us to recognize that we fight a different battle than the world does. Give us discernment to know when there are spiritual strongholds and what we need to do to destroy them. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.

  1. Great post...it brings to mind the "cleansing" that many mainline denominations of the church have undergone regarding hymns and phraseology---eliminating any reference to "war" or "battle".

The church doesn't know it is in a war?

  5. Hi Bobbi,

Thank you for sharing this truth of what we face each day; a spiritual battle.

May we exercise spiritual discernment so that we know the what and when of spiritual opposition we face. May we yield ourselves as spiritual vessels ready to fulfill Your purpose Lord, to destroy pride, greed, deception, lust, selfishness, and human reasoning.

    Blessings and peace.

  6. Thank you Bobbi for this reminder of a Believers daily spiritual battle. We are constantly fighting a war with the forces of evil. As long as Jesus is our Lord and Savior we will be victorious. Blessings. Lloyd
