THE ROCK

Matthew 16:18

"And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock
I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will
not overcome it." (NIV)


"And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and
upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates
of hell shall not prevail against it." (KJV)


What is the rock upon which God builds His church?
It is not a man. It is the direct revelation of God him
self through faith to every believer. If we have this
faith, we have the knowledge of the power and
sovereignty of God. Together, united as one in this
rock, we will trample down the very gates of hell.


Heavenly Father, we thank you and praise you for
revealing yourself to us through Jesus Christ. We
need your help in living in the power and victory
that being a part of your church gives us. Make the
rock of faith in You our ever conscious thought
and give us victory over every onslaught of the
evil one. In Jesus' name, Amen.
