An anchor is a device made to hold a ship firmly in
place so that it does not move from the place it is
intended to be. Our hope in the Lord is our anchor
to keep us firmly fixed in God's hands. With this
anchored hope, we can go right to the throne of
grace because we have been kept safe from
wandering off into waters unpleasing to Him. What
a marvelous anchor He gives us if we just ask.
Heavenly Father, forgive us when we feel that we are
anchored too tightly and cannot experience the things
of this world. We thank you that you let us know that
it is best for us, that our joy is complete, and we are
closer to you. Help us to hold on to this hope that
anchors us to you and your love and grace. In
Jesus' name.
Read Hebrews 6:19
"We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and
secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the
curtain." (NIV)
"Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both
sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within
the veil." (KJV)

Hi Bobbi,
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and visiting my blog. Of the three you host, I believe I will find encouragement, inspiration and comfort in Daily Grace.
You've provided me with a wonderful thought upon which to meditate that in Christ I'm never alone; He is my anchor.
Blessings and peace.

So many times I have sung "We have an anchor that keeps the soul -- steadfast and sure while the billows roll." That came to mind as I read your post. I'm so thankful for that anchor and for the lighthouse.

Charlotte
I can identify with the feeling of being too tightly anchored. When will I totally trust that His constraints are for my good - not just to control me. Thanks you for your post.
ReplyDeleteYes, Bobbie, He is our anchor and we need to hold firm within Him.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Joan
