If we were to take a stroll down a country road and a lion appeared from
the side of the road with a loud roar, we would certainly react with fear
and motivation to move. When God Almighty, who created the lion, speaks to us, how much more should we fear and be motivated to tell others what He has said?
Heavenly Father, we ask that you restore to us discerning ears, committed hearts, and readiness to hear from you. Then we will be moved to tell others Your words. In Jesus' name.
Read Amos 3:8
"The lion has roared--who will not fear? The Sovereign Lord has spoken--who can but prophecy?" (NIV)
"The lion hath roared, who will not fear? the Lord GOD hath spoken, who can but prophesy?" (KJV)

What a great question!! Any time someone encountered God in the OT they fainted, fell down, or they worshipped. I think we have rushed headlong into such a causualness that we often don't fear God in the manner in which that we should. We have become to familiar with the sacred.
ReplyDeleteSo true Gregg. Where has our fervor gone? Where is the fire that burns, compelling us to do God's works and love Him with our being. God's power has not changed. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. It is us that have become too comfortable, complacent in our little individuall worlds. Thanks Gregg for stopping by. God bless.
